I now own Stargate G1 Seasons 1-7 and Stargate Atlantis 1-2 and the Movie. I just finished watching season 6 and can't wait to get time to watch season 7. Probably will have time this weekend.

Ouch earthcrusher! Anyway, I totally missed the final season of SG1. Can any one give me a quick synopsis, how did it end? What happened with the Ori? And what happened to Vala? I totally dig Claudia Black. She and Ben Browder rocked in Farscape!

Well, lady Artemis, did you see up to the point Vala gave birth to a girl, who she named Adria? Adria basically became the Ori's "messiah" so to speak, leading them into battle. Ultimately, though, they found an artifact left by Merlin which would actually kill Ascended Beings, and they shipped it over to the Ori Galaxy by Federal Express (or somethin like that -- the last few episodes were a little rushed in my opinion).
Of course, they still had to deal with the Ori fleet which was still in our galaxy kicking butt. You have to see the DVD movie "Ark of Truth" to see what happened after that.

There was a short article about "Stargate:Universe" in USA Today yesterday. Apparently the premise is that the stargate somehow strands a team on board an alien starship somewhere, and they don't know where. The ship is also full of aliens, not all of which will be "latex-faced, English-speaking" aliens. Hmmm. Sounds as if someone has been watching reruns of "Farscape".

Yes I liked the movie I just dont really care for the spin offs. It very strange, but I guess I didn't really read the first two pages of this thread, or I would have definitely noticed this. I thought the movie was terrible (despite having Kurt Russell in it). There really wasn't a whole lot to it -- some guys go through the stargate, fall in with natives, captured by Ra, drop a nuke on him and scram. And Daniel Jackson came off as a complete dork. In fact, the reason I resisted watching the series at first is because I assumed it would be like the movie. Fortunately it wasn't.

Last week one of my favorite episodes appeared on the reruns, "The Other Side", guest starring Rene (Odo) Auberjonois as the leader of a civilization that was about to be overrun by its enemies. They had a healing drug, fusion reactors, force fields, and pilotless drone fighter jets, all of which they were willing to trade for just a little heavy water, so they could power up their defense screens and "end this war once and for all." But then the other shoe finally dropped...

Stargate Universe finally premiered, and I don't think it's so hot. Evidently they're trying to cross it with Battlestar Galactica, where half the cast have their private agendas and don't trust one another.

I have watched SGU since it started and it has only gotten a little bit better than it was. They could do so much with this show!! I'm hoping things will improve, but I'm not getting my hopes up too much! SGU at it's best so far is mediocre!! At least ONeil is a 3 star general now...what little we see of him!
