I was never really keen on the idea of Khan and the Eugenics Wars, but besides that I just thought that First Contact was a great film. It was the film that Picard deserved, y'know?
The Undiscovered Country was, surprisingly, to my tastes, although it was a bit sad to be the last voyage of Kirk's crew. Nemesis I saw in the cinema with a friend, and I thought it was fantastic, although I was a bit young at the time to really be very aware of Star Trek. But watch it; it's great, although it's painfully obvious that the Enterprise-E will never be seen on screen again. =(

I would personally not watch The Undiscovered Country again without a level two medical restraints to prevent me from gnawing through my own tongue, but to each his own. I've given up trying to figure out what some people see in it.

Well, Abraham Lincoln Chancellor Gorkon wasn't that bad, and Spock was hilarious throughout.

Yeah, although Valeris was more than a bit annoying. I suppose she was integral to the plot, though. -hmph-

Have to say my fav is Wrath of Khan, loved the picking up of the ep. The Next Gen movies was to much of Picard and Data and not enough of the other characters.

Too true. But then by the of the series, Picard and Data had become the two prinicipal characters, like it or not.

Picard/Data = Kirk/Spock
Same formula that was a hit in the TOS, worked in TNG

Sisko/Dax...Archer/T'Pol
I think that's really the reason they introduced Seven of Nine on VOY. She was supposed to be their female Data.

I think I'm going to be able to revise my opinion of the Eugenics Wars and all; a trilogy of novels about Khan suggests that the wars were actually covert rather than public, in an effort to try and reconcile the Trek canon with real-life history. Sounds great to me! ^^

Covert? Didn't Spock say, "whole populations were being bombed out of existance"?

Yeah, but whole populations /were/ bombed out of existence in the '90s. I suppose the premise is something like, maybe a couple of the African dictators, Middle-Eastern oil lords or American generals were Augments, or something. It could be plausible; we'd just have to assume the governments of the world are a lot more capable than we think xD
What if there were still Augments, hmm? Doubt it's Bush, though.
