I see now. There's only one thing wrong with scenario -- Saavik would be too old, assuming it had been only fifteen years since the episode "Space Seed".

What Thallassa means is that, if "Space Seed" had happened only 15 years earlier, she wouldn't be old enough to attend the academy yet, let alone be a lieutenant junior grade. That's a good point.

I was watching The Wrath of Khan again the other night and one thing struck me. Do you realize that the very first thing Kirk said to Spock in that movie was, "Aren't you dead?" A bit ironic, don't you think?
