You may have noticed that you accumulate Credits for each post. With these credits you can buy stuff, such as a 'starship' such as this. Make sure to check out the Starbase Store in the Engineering section of the starbase!
Own your own Starship* = 625-10,000** credits
* = You will get a Starship (thread) placed under Docking Bay on this message board. The Starship (thread) will be named by you and listed as (Name) NCC-####. You will be assigned the custom title of Captain NCC-####. You will be able to moderate your own starship and place a password on it if you so wish. You can also buy custom titles to assign people as members of your crew.
** Here are the ships available:
Oberth Class = 625 credits (1 thread)
Miranda Class = 1,250 credits (2 threads)
Constitution class = 2,500 credits (3 threads)
Constellation class = 5,000 credits (4 threads)
Excelsior class = 10,000 credits (5 threads)
**Here are the Klingon ships available:
D-12 "Bird of Prey" class = 1,250 credits (2 threads)
D7 class = 2,500 credits (3 threads)
K't'inga class = 5,000 credits (4 threads)
**Here are the Romulan ships available:
D-7 class = 2,500 credits (3 threads)
Bird of Prey class = 5,000 credits (4 threads)
Each thread is limited to 10 pages of posts. Once 10 pages is reached, the thread is deleted and then recreated. You can upgrade both the Constitution and Excelsior Classes with a (refit) for 1,000 credits, so when a thread reaches the 10 page limit, it is locked, but viewable and saved on the starship as an archive, and a new thread created.
The stardate is 2286 (just after Star Trek: IV) so these are the ships that are currentlty available. You may not use a name of an exsisting starship, see ncc0242.proboards105.com/index.cgi?board=sci&action=display&thread=1146346619
You may decommission your starship for half the price you paid for it, or you may sell it to another member. Currently there is only enough room for 7 ships to dock at starbase 242, so if we are full, you may sell your starship for a profit since space is limited!
Note: 2 or more members may 'pool' their credits together to purchase a starship. For example, 5 members may each pay 2,000 credits to buy an excelsior class.
