Okay, then. Which would you rather have as your Chief of Security?

Worf, not afraid of a fight.

In a way, this is an unfair question, because we only saw Tasha for (I think) two seasons. She certainly wasn't any slouch at fighting, but I'd have to agree with the Admiral that tended to be a little too cautious for my taste. I had to vote for Worf.

Definitely Worf; on a personal level, I enjoy watching him as a character so much more, and also I found Tasha Yar to be stretching the limits of annoying. On a more professional note, Worf has grown into a much more experienced and multi-dimensional person over fifteen years, which I doubt Yar would have done; she didn't seem to have anywhere near as much potential, instead seeming like she had fulfilled all the personal growth that she was ever going to do.

Tasha did seem to have a chip on her shoulder from time to time, so we can't really know how much she would have grown. But I see your point.

Besides, Denise Crosby made a much better hateful Romulan-Human hybrid than a martial arts master security officer.

That might have something to do with the fact that, after Star Trek, all she seemed to get were secondary roles in a string of bad "sci-fi" movies like "Pet Semetary" and "Dolly Dearest". If that happened to me, I'd be hateful, too!

I really ought to go and watch "Yesterday's Enterprise", 'cause I still don't really understand the whole Sela thing.

I think "Sela" was a mistake. I really don't think that, knowing the situtation she was in, Yar would let herself be captured. If if she had been stunned or something (have we EVER heard of Romulans going out of their way to take prisoners?), I don't see her cooperating with a Romulan to have a child. Even if that had happened, I don't see her EVER telling anyone that she came from the future, knowing that the Romulans would likely mind-sift her for information about technology! It just doesn't add up to me, any way you look at it.

Worf, definatley!! I never liked Yar much although it would have been interesting to see what would've happened if she didn't die. Her death did bring me to tears I must say but what would I do without my woof?! And I just loved the relationship between Lwaxana and Worf on a non personal note, as a Klingon Worf may sometimes take it a bit to far but Tasha was a bit too cautious at times.
