Return of Voyager

The original Voyager and its crew returned home five years ago but not to the warm, welcome greeting they had all imagined. Even though they managed to anialate most of the Borg, some drones and the Queen survived. They attacked, and Earth was thrown into a massive war which depleted not only civilians and government officials, but natural resources and the economy as well. The beautiful planet they had once called home is just a dying wasteland, and the remaining survivors live in fear of when the next Borg attack will occur.

Instead of the glorious homecoming they had pictured, the crew of Voyager came home to devestation and the loss of hope. The survivors of the war attempted to rebuild what they could, but with limited materials and resources it was nearly impossible. The members left of Starfleet decided that it was time to move planets, because they were still under attack and feard that their once beautiful home would no longer be available to them after their enemy managed to kill off the last of their defense.

And so, the members of Voyager crew helped them find another planet that would be suitable for human life. The only problem was that it would take too long to transport everyone there without some kind of doorway in space that cut the time. Without this doorway, it would take nearly ten years to reach their new home. Knowing that they didn't have enough time and resources, they focused on building a gateway so that they could pass through easily to their new home.

Now, five years later, they are still building the gateway and are nearly complete, all they have to do is keep it hidden from the enemy long enough to get everyone through it and destroy it from the other side. The task is more difficult than it seems, because only the new Voyager, which was built to protect the gateway, is the defense. If something slips by the ship and its crew the gateway will be destroyed.
