Agreed. The movie was horrible. I think the problem is that most of Adams' humor comes from playing with words, and that doesn't translate well into a visual medium.
"How many escape pods does this ship have?"
"None!"
"Did you count them?"
"Twice!"

I've been reading the 12 book series by David & Leigh Eddings - it's great, because it reads itself in a circle so you can just go from the last book right back into the first one again LOL
The Belgariad Pawn of Prophecy, Queen of Sorcery, Magician's Gambit, Castle of Wizardry, Enchanters' End Game The Malloreon Guardians of the West, King of the Murgos, Demon Lord of Karanda, Sorceress of Darshiva, The Seeress of Kell Belgarath the Sorcerer Polgara the Sorceress
All very awesome books and a great story all together ^..^

Umm. This is the Holodeck R&R. A place for absolutely nothing, and everything. This is for total randomness and/or general chat.
And,What is your favorite book? I think it's safe to talk about other books besides Star Trek ones.
I, regretfully, haven't been able to read any of those.
However, and I just heard about this, I like Stephen Gould's Jumper, which is going to be made into a movie.
I remember when I read it in the sixth grade--I'm graduated, but--and I found solace in the book. I just don't have it now.

The two Sparhawk series by Eddings was even better! Haven't read it yet ^..^ plan on it though - I love the writing style and the voice of the books ;D & the characters are always so well developed even the most minor characters I love the way they get brought back in later on.

On a Pale Horse by P. Anthony is one of my top five for sure. All about death (the myth/person)
