This is one of my favorite movies. The time travel idea is kind of overdone, but it really is nice seeing the Enterprise crew struggling to deal with the 20th century.
"Admiral, your use of language has altered since our arrival. It is currently laced with, shall we say, colloquial metaphors. Double dumba$$ on you, and so forth..."
"You mean profanity. It's simply the way they talk here."

Good quote Mr Atoz about the language!
I like the part on the bus when Mr Spock uses his Vulcan nerve pinch on an obnoxious punk rocker with the loud boom box! The whole bus cheered when the punk rocker was knocked out and his music was off!!! lol

The only thing I really did not like about the movie was Gillain Taylor, and the actress who played her. I once read an interview in which she said she did not want to be in a Star Trek movie, and her agent had to talk her into it. It's hard for me to imagine someone not wanting to be in Star Trek.

Mr Atoz. I didn't know the actress that played Jilllian Taylor did not want to be in the movie. I saw her in a show I don't like that she has been in for years "7th Heaven" I think?

According to Nimoy's memoir, Eddie Murphy wanted to be in "The Voyage Home". But they couldn't think of a way to write him into the story.

I would love to be in a Star Trek movie... Ah, yes! It would be great just to be an extra, maybe a bridge officer or something!

According to the story that Nimoy told, he wanted to play his usual wise-cracking con-artist type, and they couldn't figure out how to work that into the storyline.

Interesting Mr Atoz! I think they could have put him in there if they would have had the right writers. Imagine Eddie Murphy taking the place of the punk rocker on the bus! ;D

This is one of my favorite Star Trek movies. The lines in this move crack me up, and so do a lot of the scenes.
Like the interigation scene. "Name?" "My name?" "No, my name!" "I do not know your name!"
And Scotty talking into the computer mouse after McCoy hands it to him after not getting a response off the bat.
How they stumbled upon that factory was nice too. That large wall that advertised the yellow pages.
I also can't imagine anyone not wanting to be on Star Trek. I'd love to have been one of those glorifyed extras...even if I got killed.

They did have a lot of extras in the movie and I bet they were thrilled. It would be more fun to be an alien extra though.

Like the interigation scene. "Name?" "My name?" "No, my name!" "I do not know your name!". When you think about it, this was pretty clever of Chekov. He realized that his best chance of getting away with it was to pretend to be clueless (maybe a nuclear protester). And he did a good job.

I don't remember if I've mentioned this before, but do you remember that Chekov tried to shoot the interrogator, found that the Klingon phaser wouldn't work, and then tossed it into his hands before making a dash for it? Wouldn't that be a violation of the Temporal Prime Directive, leaving something like that behind?
I have an explanation myself, but I want to see if anyone else noticed that.
