I am Thallassa. Long I wandered the universe in discorporate form, and played among the stars, until now I have returned to the green Earth that I once knew.
How's it going, kids?

I'm so glad you finally found us, Thallassa! We're plodding on. Starbase 242 is obviously out in the boondocks of the galaxy, which is why we are undermanned most of the time, but we get by.
Tell us more about yourself. How is Sargon?

My beloved Sargon and I were joined with such bonds as you mortals cannot know. We eventually ascended to a higher plane of existence, beyond your ken. What bliss there was I cannot describe. Yet Sargon would insist upon leaving the toilet seat up, and bringing other discorporate entities to our celestial abode to watch football all day Sunday, so eventually we parted our ways.
I can't tell you how relieved I am at your greeting. I tried two other Star Trek forums before this, and would you believe that none of them gave any inkling that they even knew who Thallassa was? You are the Mr. Atoz who wrote that lovely story in the Fan Fiction section! I have to tell you it was one of the main reasons that I decided to register here rather than continue to lurk.

I love a woman with a sense of humor! Which story of mine did you read? What did you like most about it?

Thank you so much, Admiral. I've been enjoying some of the articles you wrote in the "Debates" section.

Which story of mine did you read? What did you like most about it? It was the first one. I like the way the astrophysicist said, "Everybody knows that time travel is impossible." Is he named after Jack Horkheimer, by the way? I'm curious why you don't write about the regular Star Trek cast. I would think more people would be interested in your stories if you did.

I like the way the astrophysicist said, "Everybody knows that time travel is impossible." Is he named after Jack Horkheimer, by the way? Yes, the old "Star Hustler"! I used to love watching his show on PBS.I thought about it, but in the end I wanted the freedom to play with their relationships. That meant creating my own characters. But I'll PM you more about this. This is supposed to be YOUR thread. Tell us about yourself!

Hello and welcome Thallassa. And yes, like Mr. Atoz says; tell us about yourself.

Not much to tell, really. Single mother of two children, 11 and 13. I used to be on the editorial staff of a newspaper, until the budget cuts. Now I work in the circulation department of a much smaller paper. My children grew tired of me complaining that none of my friends appreciated Star Trek, so they said I should join a Star Trek message board. Previously I had been too busy to even realize that such things existed.

Better late than never. You ARE raising those children as proper Trekkies, aren't you?

Trying, but with little chance of success. At this age, everything mom likes is hopelessly out-of-date. When I brought home the TOS dvds, my daughter actually voiced the concern that they wouldn't work on our television set. Apparently she had the idea that "ancient" television operated on completely different technology. Smoke signals, possibly.
