Okay, so we know that Voyager got back to the Alpha quadrant with in about 7 years which does, especially at my age, seem like a very very long time. But what if it did take them 70 years, or even more to get back. What would they do then. What about after 30 years of travelling, would they finally just settle on a planet?? Personally, after 30 years of non stop travelling I would want to just rest which may mean giving up but the life you would've had on earth would be pretty much gone anyway. If you had children, they would have grown up and excepted that you'd gone. Lovers would have moved on and friends and family would also have, by then , believed you were dead and moved on. I just don't believe that Captain Janeway would really have put her crew through that! And also there or complications, most of the original crew would probably be dead by then anyway and the crew would be forced to have children so that they could replace the slowly diminishing crew. And what sort of life would that be for the children?? Risking all to go back to a place they had never even been to before. It just sounds insane! So what would you do in Janeway's place??

These are all very good points. I remember an early episode where they met a planet full of the descendants of people who had been abducted from Earth. I would have stayed with them, perhaps used the Voyager to do some exploring right around that general area.

Yes, that would have been very interesting! The Delta Quadrant is just as interesting and exciting as the Alpha Quadrant

They discussed all that in an episode. I can't rightly remember which one at the moment as tis 3:28am and I'm really tired. If you lived, you'd have to have moved on like your loved ones had. In the case of the children, well, Harry Kim thought Naomi Wildman was lucky to have been born on Voyager, in the eppie Once Upon a Time. Also in the eppie Bliss you get her take on being on Voyager. In Shattered, Icheb makes commander while they are in the Delta quad. as Janeway and Chakotay had died many years ago. In Elogium I think Chakotay and Janeway discuss Voyager might having to become a generational ship. Yes! I am a proud Voyager fan! I believe I would have done what Janeway had done.
