Synopsis: The U.S.S. Enterprise is called to a space station to participate in a war games exercise, overseen by Commodore Robert Wesley, with the Enterprise crew replaced with Dr. Richard Daystrom's M-5 Multitronic Unit, a new experimental computer complex that will control all functions aboard a starship.
During the test run with the M-5 computer in control of the Enterprise, the computer attacks and destroys the Woden, an old automated ore freighter with no crew. The M-5 surrounds itself with a force field and draws power directly from the warp engines; Dr. Daystrom and the Enterprise are unable to deactivate the computer, which was designed to think creatively like a man using Daystrom's own brain engrams.
When the M-5 attacks the four other starships participating in the war games, Starfleet orders them to destroy the Enterprise.

OOC: I'm sure Niemz wont mind me take over for a bit while he's off tanning in the desert.
Manually disabling the radiation field dampeners, Ensign Richards and several others had managed to allude the M-5's attempts at detection. Dr. Richard Daystrom on the other hand had not faired so well. In his attempts to gain control of the computer systems from the engineering room, M-5 had used a powerful electro shock generated by the engines that killed him instantly. The rest of them where safe for the moment, even if the radiation levels where a bit to high to mask their life signs from the M-5 computer. The last transmission they had recieved from starfleet was the order to destroy the Enterprise. Data and Ensign Richards work feverously to shutdown the Warp engines, but M-5 blocked their attempts at every turn. "Data can you shut down the force field around the reactor? Maybe I can manually shut it down before M-5 can enact counter measures." Ensign Richards hoped the radiation would hide his life signs that close to the reactor. If not he would surely meet the same fate as the Doctor.

Yes sir, I believe it is possible to divert more power to the Force Filed generator causing the generator to overload… sir I'm locked out, changing the encryption… success, well partly sir. The aft section of the Field is down. How ever transporters are inoperative.

Quickly making his way inside the force field Ensign Richards quickly pulls the control panel and shuts down power the Warp engines. As he manually removes the last conductor unit to shut down the drive a small spark erupts from the conduit, startling Richards. "Good work Data. That should keep this ship from getting away from Starfleet and causing more trouble." As Ensign Richards finishes his statement the warp engines suddenly come back to life and the ship jumps into warp speed, throwing the unprepared engineers to the ground.
Finding a way around the manual shut down of the Warp Engines, M-5 sends the ship into warp speed before the remaining life forms on board can trap him in the system with the other 3 warships
With part of the Force field down on the warp engines the radiation increases to a very dangerous level.
