Yes, a silicon based virus, which Tucker had already learned in "Exobiology 101" was uncurable. Which btw contradicts "The Devil in the Dark" where Dr. McCoy had never heard of a silicon based lifeform.

Sometimes you get the feeling the writers of ENT didn't really take TOS seriously. They sometimes used the names of aliens from TOS (like the Malurians) but that was about it.
