I was going to run a poll of all the hot ladies from the Original Series, but first we've got to make a list. How about it? Who would you nominate?
The first that comes to my mind is Kelinda from "By Any Other Name". I think one of the things that made her so sensual was the matter-of-fact way she went about doing research on our human preoccupation with love. "You have devoted much literature to it. Why do you build such a mystique around a simple biological function?"
(To which Kirk answered, "We enjoy it!")

I was hoping for some specific nominees, by name.
For instance, another that comes to mind is Carolyn Palomas, from "Who Mourns for Adonais?" and that slinky Grecian gown Apollo made for her. Ooooh!

Here's another thought. It occurs to me that Kirk's amorous liasions have been slightly exaggerated. I went through the entire TOS and counted. Would you believe that he only made out with 16 different women? And half the time it was because he was literally forced to. Strange but true.
I think there's only three he can be said to really have been in love with -- Edith Keeler, Miramanee, and Raina.

Maybe it is time we took a look at Kirk's love life. Knowing how methodical you like to be, I suggest we start with season one. Off the top of my head, I can think of Eve, the woman he fell for in "Mudd's Women" (but she was taking the Venus drug, so that probably doesn't count). Then Miri, but he was basically just friendly to her. Same for Lenore Karidian; he was using her to learn more about her father. And... in "Shore Leave", he remembered Ruth from the time he was a cadet. Anyone else?

In "The Menagerie", Lt. Piper mentions a Helen Johansen who knew Kirk quite well. In "Court Martial" there was Lt. Areel Shaw. You notice a lot of these are women that he used to know when he was younger. He's not actually making love to them here on stage.
The only exception is Edith Keeler, from "The City on the Edge of Forever". That was a woman he truely fell for!

I don't know how I forgot Edith Keeler! Was that the only woman he really made love to in Season One?

As nearly as I can figure it. He kissed Areel Shaw, but it was more of a friendly kiss. It was right there on the bridge, for goodness sakes! Ready to dive into season two?

Oops you caught me unprepared with this one. Like I know off hand that "The Paradise Syndrome" was in season two, but I'll have to take a run through my dvds to be sure what else is there.

Not so fast. Before we move along, which of these women did you like best? I have to say I liked Areel Shaw. And did you notice her skirt wasn't quite as short as all the others?

Oh yes. Probably because she was a lawyer, a "professional" woman. Hmmm. I never did like Edith Keeler, Kirk's big "love". I think my fav was Eve, the woman with the Venus drug. She seemed like a pretty intelligent woman, really down to earth. She would have made a good permanent partner for Kirk, I think.

So by my count, in the first season Kirk kissed Janice Rand (in "The Enemy Within"), Helen Noel ("Dagger of the Mind"), Lenore Karidian, Areel Shaw, Edith Keeler, oh and Andrea the android in "What are Little Girls Made of?" But Andrea was just a machine so she hardly counts. Did I miss anybody?
